Indian Origin Girl, Michelle wins Irish National Badminton Under-17 Grade A Tournament

Ireland: Indian Origin Girl, Michelle Shochan wins U17 Grade A Irish National Championship at the  Baldoyle Badminton Centre  in Ireland. 

The U17 Grade A Irish Nationals 2022 was held from 26 to 27 February at the Badminton Center in Baldoyle. She shared the women's doubles title with Laura Comer from Northern Ireland.


She has won the women's singles title and the women's doubles title. Michelle also won the 2021 Women's Singles and Mixed Doubles Under-17 Championship. His sister is also a badminton player. Hannah Schoen, sister of Michelle Schoen, won the U13 All England Gold in Badminton at Kent in London.

Michelle Showchen has been announced as the winner of the women's singles title after defeating Laura Comer in the Under-17 Grade A Irish Nationals. Michelle leads Ireland's Under-15 singles rankings.

From the age of 8, Michelle Shochen was initially trained by her father, who was an instructor at the DFTC (Defense Forces Training Center) physical education department. Later he started practicing badminton in Ireland as well. Michelle, a sophomore at Maryfield College Griffith Avenue Secondary School, has been representing the U17 Irish team since she was 11 years old.
