Kottayam: Former Metropolitan of the Malabar Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Church Zacharias Mar Polycarpus Metropolitan (52) has handed away.
He died of a heart attack at St. Mary's Hospital, Manarkad. He was rushed to Manarkad Central Mary's Hospital, Kottayam following a heart attack. The death occurred around 9.30pm. He is a member of St. Mary's Puthenpalli Parish, Kottayam and a member of the Kochillam Family.
He was a member of the advisory boards of assorted instructional establishments, together with St. Mary’s School, Meenangadi, St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s English Medium College, and Aramia Worldwide Residential College.
Public viewing at St. Mary's Cathedral, Manarkad till 5 pm today. The mourning procession to St. Mary's Church will begin after the evening prayers. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday 22 June 2022 under the patronage of His Holiness Baselios Thomas I, Catholicose Bava.
