“And the Government will reaffirm its majority tomorrow, and there will be a clear margin in favour of the Government.
“This is a stunt by Sinn Fein. It’s a cynical and negative attempt purely to undermine the Government.”
Mr Chambers, a Fianna Fáil TD in West Dublin, said the public expected "constructive policies" from their representatives.
“The public who are listening here expect constructive politics from everyone who represents them in the Dail,” he said.
“This week, there’s no recommendations from Sinn Fein on lodging, no proposition from Sinn Fein on the taken a toll of living, no recommendations from Sinn Fein on changing our wellbeing system.”
He added: "I think it's just a cynical attempt to follow their path to power.
“It's not about solutions.
“It’s not almost taking after through, and this gives the Government an opportunity to set out our conveyance over numerous regions, on how we are satisfying the goals within the program for Government on housing and the cost of living, and on healthcare reform.”
The Government faces a certainty vote on Tuesday after losing its lion's share within the Dail.
The coalition has gradually reduced its majority over the past few months.
Mr McHugh's loss drops the number of Government TDs to 79 - a shortfall from the Dáil majority.
Sinn Féin tabled the motion and party president Mary Lou Macdonald said independent TDs faced a "huge call" over whether to support "bad government" or "stand up and be counted" to change the regime.
Green TDs Neesa Hourigan and Patrick Costello were stripped of the whip in May for voting against the government on an issue relating to the relocation of the National Maternity Hospital.
Mr Chambers was asked if he had spoken to the two Green TDs.
He said Green Party whip Mark O'Cathasaig had been in touch with them.
"There has been contact with both TDs in recent weeks and the Green Party will have further engagements with both TDs today," he said.
He added that the government is expected to support them, though neither has announced how they will do it.
Asked if he had any concerns about reports that members of his own party were plotting to replace Michael Martin as leader, Mr Chambers said he still had strong support for the Taoiseach.
"I don't, and it wasn't discussed at that meeting as reported. The Taoiseach has strong support within our parliamentary party and he has strong support among the wider public," he said.
