Dublin : The 2022 Dublin Chariot Procession and Festival, led by ISKCON (The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Ireland will begin today Saturday at 11.00 AM in Dublin, Ireland.

Ratha Yatra Ireland - East meets West in a sacred celebration : Ratha Yatra is a colourful and vibrant public festival that dates back thousands of years to ancient India. It features a huge chariot pulled by hand, accompanied by music and dancing, culminating in a fun-filled afternoon of stage shows and exhibitions as well as a free, sumptuous vegetarian feast.

Festival schedule is as follows:
11.00 - Gathering at take-off point at Parnell Square
11:00 - Opening ceremony with Lord Mayor and religious/cultural representatives
12:00 - Parade leaves from Parnell Square
14:00 - Festival begins at Merrion Square(East) bandstand
17:00 - approximate ending time


Ratha Yatra around the city will start at 2 o'clock after singing kirtan to Lord Jagannath. This year also has the distinction of resuming the Rath Ghosaitra which was halted due to Covid. The mayor and representatives of Dublin, as well as other cultural leaders, will join the procession.

The road on which the Ratha Yatra is going will be cleaned with a broom. The Dublin, Ratha Yatra, which invokes Indian culture with devotional dance steps, puja bell ringing and puja mantras, will once again enthrall the people of Ireland. The Maha Ratha Yatra, which is accompanied by devotional mantras and kirtans, musical instruments and dance performances, will conclude at Merrion Square at 5.00 pm.

In Dublin, the capital of Ireland, the venue for the gathering of devotees from different parts of the country has been prepared. Irish people, Indians and other devotees line up at the Garden of Remembrance to take part in the grand procession and celebrations that take place over the years. There will also be a community feast in connection with the festival, which is free of charge.
Today's Rathayatra..“Come on, walk with us, WALK WITH GOD, dance, grab a rope and pull.” Lord Jagannath is coming out onto the streets to create that good fortune for all on this today...What to speak of pulling His chariot or singing and dancing in front of Him, if we just have a glimpse of His transcendental form as He passes by, we can become free from all our sinful reactions and experience real ecstasy by develop our loving relationship with Him.
