Tayto Park will introduce two new coasters next year

IRELAND: Tayto Park in Co. Meath will debut two new coasters in the upcoming season.

The two new rollercoasters, which will both be made of steel, are currently under construction.

C Chulainn, the park's current signature rollercoaster, is made of wood.

Charles Coyle, general manager of Tayto Park, turned the first sod on the new, €16,000,000 project.

The tallest coaster will be 24 metres, while the shortest will be 31 metres.

The two new rides will join the existing C Chulainn, Flight School, and Dino Dash to make a total of five rollercoasters at the park.

The park will get a new name and identity after Tayto announced in February that it was abandoning its title sponsorship.

Tayto's sponsorship will terminate at the end of this year, according to a joint statement from Tayto Snacks and Tayto Park, and the new name would take effect in January 2023.

A new strategic partner is now being sought by the park's management team.

Ray Coyle, the creator of Tayto Park, passed away in June at the age of 70.

Before launching Largo Foods in 1982, he worked as a potato farmer. The company now owns brands of crisps as Tayto, Hunky Dory, Perri, and King.

He opened Tayto Park in Ashbourne in 2010, which is home to a theme park, zoo, 5D cinema, circus and playground.
