Dublin: Culture Night 2022 kicks off from art to dance

The 17th edition of Culture Night takes place next Friday - an evening of free arts and culture across the island of Ireland.

No matter where you are in the country, you can find something interesting be it art, dance, drama, history, heritage or literary events. All events are free, and it's a great night to check out parts of your community that you may not know very well.

There is definitely special for everyone at this Culture Night, according to Maureen Kennelly of the Arts Council. The variety of organisers, which includes corporations, community organisations, historical and tourist destinations, and healthcare facilities, is what makes the programme so diverse. Culture Night is about curiosity, surprise, and joy, and with 1,700 activities, we will be overrun with options as the depth, breadth, and variety of Irish culture today are on display.

This year, museums, galleries and cultural attractions across Dublin have created bespoke events for the Culture Night Dublin audience alongside their own vibrant programmes. I am especially delighted to see a number of venues open later into the evening with late night programming spread across the county, generously supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the National Culture Night team. There are a wide range of late night offerings for audiences to experience, including a flagship event at the historic Fruit & Vegetable Market.

You can find the full line-up at the Culture Night website.
