All visitors aged 18 and over must also download a government-run phone application tracking people’s movements and health status, called Ehteraz.
“A green Ehteraz (showing the user does not have a confirmed case of Covid-19) is required to enter any public closed indoor spaces,” World Cup organisers said.
Visitors must be able to show a negative result from a PCR test taken in the 48 hours before arriving or from an official rapid test taken within 24 hours.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy stated in a statement that visitors aged six and older must submit to the Covid-19 testing policy "regardless of the individual's immunisation status."
For the 1.2 million spectators expected throughout the tournament's dates of November 20–December 18, vaccination is not required.
Rapid antigen tests that were completed within the preceding 24 hours of landing in Qatar will only be acceptable if they were performed by authorised medical facilities rather than by the individual. If spectators do not exhibit Covid-19 symptoms, no additional testing is necessary in Qatar.
The choices apply to all visitors arriving in Qatar beginning on September 4 as well as the World Cup public health policies.
On public transportation, including the subway that many fans will use to travel to the eight stadiums in and around Doha, masks are required.
According to statistics acquired since 2020 by Johns Hopkins University in the United States, Qatar has reported approximately 450,000 verified instances of Covid-19 and 682 deaths from the disease.
There are at least 2.5 million people living in Qatar, although only roughly 350,000 of them are Qataris.
According to the data, more than 97% of Qatar's population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
According to the World Cup organisers, "Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 while in Qatar will be obliged to isolate in accordance with Ministry of Public Health protocols."
