New Delhi: Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland passed away on 8 September 2022. The Government of India has decided to observe a day of mourning in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
Sunday, September 11, is a nationwide day of mourning. On that day, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in government buildings and other places. The Union Home Ministry also stated that there will be no official program.
Flags are lowered and bells are rung in various parts of Britain to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth's body will soon be brought to Buckingham Palace in London. World leaders will pay their respects here. The body of Queen Elizabeth II is now kept at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
