Bengaluru: The Congress has an absolute majority when the Karnataka assembly election results are out. Congress started celebrating after winning absolute majority of 113 seats. The workers started the celebration at the Congress headquarters.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah is leading in Varuna and Congress leader DK Shivakumar is leading in Kanakapura. In Hubli-Dharwad constituency, former Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar was behind at one time but came back ahead.
Congress has asked the successful leaders to come to Bengaluru. It has been suggested to skip all the programs in the constituencies and reach the capital. Congress is advancing in Madhya Karnataka too.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done the most road shows through the constituencies of Madhya Karnataka. BJP has not been able to make the expected progress here. Counting of votes started from 8 am.
According to the initial results, there was a strong contest between the Congress and the BJP. There are indications that the exit poll results are coming true.
