In channel deluge, anything has to be done to succeed in organizing the audience. Otherwise the channel will suffer a huge reduction in advertising revenue. All the channels are trying to attract the audience by presenting different programs.

Such is the thrust of variety shows. Many channelers do not think about the quality of the program when the only objective is to attract the audience. Things have come to a point where programs that transgress the boundaries of civility appear on channels.

Apart from innovative programs, the current channel agenda is the program that attracts the audience immediately. For this, special officers have been appointed in all channels to carry out research and its implementation. Their only goal is to win the competition. They don't think about how the program will affect the mind and behavior of the audience.

Channels are advised to refrain from giving a platform on channel programs to persons facing serious charges such as belonging to terrorist or law-breaking organisations. The central government has issued directives to all television channels in India. The program managed to get a large audience as the channel workers had intended. When you know that the audience is not due to merit, you understand how serious the situation is.

They have also found that many of the programs that were directed not to be aired are being shown with slight changes. The channelers are doing this with the sole aim of capturing the audience.

A group that has conducted a study in this regard has reported that when some programs and movies that glorify criminals and thugs are regularly shown, they will turn to violence.

All this indicates that the time has come to control the channel programs. There are already restrictions on showing smoking and drinking. But not banned. When smoking and drinking alcohol are shown, it should be added that it is harmful to health. A system of issuing censor certificates to films is now in place at the central level. But the channel does not tighten such system for programs and serials.

If things continue as they are now, it won't be long before there is a slogan to get the television box out of the living room. The time has come to hold a pair of scissors in front of channel programs.
