New Delhi: Accused arrested in case of murder of foreign woman in Delhi. Gurpreet Singh, the friend of the murdered woman, was arrested by the police on Saturday.

On Friday, the dead body of a Swiss woman was found in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar, covered with a large plastic bag. In the investigation conducted by the police, the victim was identified as Lena Berger, a native of Switzerland. Within hours, the police also arrested Gurpreet Singh, who killed the Swiss woman.

Police say that the murdered Swiss woman and the accused Gurpreet are friends. Gurpreet met Lena in Switzerland. Then the two became friends. Gurpreet visited Switzerland from time to time to see Lena.

Meanwhile, the accused suspected that the woman was having a relationship with someone else. With this, the accused had planned to kill the young woman and according to this, the police had done the act a few days ago.

Gurpreet Singh, who decided to kill the woman, asked her to come to India. Lena arrived in India on October 11 as requested by Gurpreet. Then five days later, the accused killed the young woman.

On the day of the incident, the accused took the young woman to a room and first tied her hands and feet and only after this did the crime, police said. After the murder, the body was kept in a car bought using the identification documents of the woman.

However, when the stench started coming from the car, it was decided to leave the body somewhere else. Then the body was left on the roadside in Tilak Nagar, police said.

The police had identified the vehicle in which the accused was traveling from the CCTV footage of the area. The accused was arrested during the investigation which focused on this vehicle. The car in which the body was kept in the first days and another car used by the accused have been taken into custody by the police.

2.25 crore rupees were also recovered from his house. A detailed investigation of the incident by Delhi Police is going on.
