Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship (Aer Lingus)! ✈️ Applications for 2024

Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship (Aer Lingus)! ✈️ Applications for 2024 Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship are now open. Closing date for this 4-year programme is 19th March 2024.

What to expect ?

The opportunity to be part of something special at Aer Lingus awaits when you apply for the Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Apprenticeship.

Our apprentice programme is a structured four year programme, which encompasses a mix of "on" and "off" the job training. The training is both hands-on and classroom based, and is run in conjunction with Shannon Aviation School (SAMS) and Technical University of Dublin (TUD).

It is important to note that as part of our apprentice programme, you will be expected to relocate to Shannon for approximately nine months. This is to allow you to attend Shannon Aviation School (SAMS) and embrace the classroom based training requirements of the apprentice programme.

After successfully completing the four-year programme you become a fully qualified Aircraft Engineer with Aer Lingus, and will be presented with a FETAC level 6 award.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • A strong technical and mechanical interest
  • A high level of enthusiasm and commitment to the programme for its four-year duration
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • A proven ability to work on your own initiative while contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships
