MS.Dhoni who led Chennai for 16 years, has vacated his captaincy;

Chennai: Just hours are left for the epic IPL that cricket fans around the world have been waiting for. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans are in extreme excitement.

The match will be held at Chepauk, Chennai's home ground. But for the Chennai fans, there is a sad news. MS who led Chennai for 16 years. Dhoni has vacated his captaincy.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni won five titles in 16 years for Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni won the title for Chennai in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. Dhoni has played 214 innings for Chennai so far. Out of that, the player got 4957 runs. Dhoni has a brilliant average of 38.72 and bats in the middle order with a brilliant strike rate of 137.8. Moreover, Dhoni scored 23 fifties for Chennai. The player hit a total of 239 sixes in the IPL. The legendary Indian skipper has 349 boundaries in his account.

Dhoni has added his signature not only in the IPL but also in the Champions Trophy. Dhoni won the Champions Trophy in 2010 and 2014 for Chennai. Moreover, it is almost certain that 2024 IPL will be the star's last season. The actor has not said this officially. Rituraj Gaikwad is now the new captain of the franchise.
