Kochi: An Air Force plane arrived at the Nedumbassery airport carrying the bodies of the Keralites who died in the Kuwait fire.
The body was brought around 10.30 am. kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Joint Minister Suresh Gopi and other ministers of the state received the body on behalf of the state government. The bodies of 23 Keralites and seven natives of Tamil Nadu were brought to Kochi. The Indian Airforce plane landed in Kochi with the bodies of 45 Indians who died in Kuwait fire.
After a public view at the Nedumbassery airport, the bodies will be taken to the homes of the deceased in ambulances. Family members and relatives of the deceased have reached the airport to receive the bodies.
So far, 45 Indians have been confirmed dead. Minister K Rajan had earlier said that since the information about the accident came to light, the central government and the state government have initiated necessary measures.
More than 45 people died and 50 were injured in a fire in a crowded building in Kuwait. Exploding gas cylinders following the fire also added to the danger. The Kuwait Ministry of Health said many of the injured were in critical condition and the death toll was likely to rise

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar have extended all help to the Indian workers who were injured in the accident in the past few days. The ambassador went to the camp and secured more help.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has also shared a helpline number and asked for any help related to the tragic fire incident involving Indian workers.
