London: Shainu Claire Mathews has been appointed as the UK National President of Overseas Indian Cultural (OICC).

KPCC General Secretary TU Radhakrishnan issued a new letter in this regard. Shainu Claire Mathews is the first woman president in the history of OICC. KPCC entrusted SHINU with key tasks such as expanding the organization across the UK and strengthening the organizational structure. The new role was sought while holding the titles of OICC (UK) Working President and Europe Women's Wing Coordinator.

Shainu Mathews, who immigrated to the UK as a nurse 20 years ago, has braved many adverse life circumstances and obstacles to move forward. The life situation they raised step by step using only self-confidence and hard work is an inspiration to many people today.

To raise funds for the education needs of economically disadvantaged children in Kerala, an adventurous sky driving at a height of 15,000 feet was conducted twice in 2017 and 2022 in Manchester and the entire amount raised was paid towards the education expenses of the children.

About ten lakhs of rupees were raised twice for charity. Shainu is ready to go skydiving again on September 8 with the continuation of that. Shainu Claire Mathews reacted to the news of her appointment as OICC (UK) President saying that she is very happy with the trust KPCC has placed in her and that she will fulfill the work entrusted to her with utmost sincerity and will have everyone's cooperation and support for it.

Shainu Mathews' public work and philanthropic activities, which were limited to Kerala and Manchester public sector in the early days, have reached different parts of the UK. Today, Shainu Mathews, who has made a mark in the field of emergency services, is the owner of three nursing homes namely Clare Mount, Angel Mount and Sion Mount.

Apart from nursing homes, Shainu Mathews also owns 'Tiffin Box' Hotel chains in the Gulf countries and Coventry in the UK, providing Malayalis with an environment where they can enjoy quality local food in their own style.

A permanent resident of Bolton Manchester, Shainu has received numerous awards including Pravasi Bharati Kerala's 'The Lady of Excellence Award', OICC - Incas Sharjah Award and World Malayali Council Business Forum's 'Business Women' Award.
