Police cars are not safe in Australia. A teenager has been charged with stealing a police car in central west New South Wales.
At 3.10pm last Friday, police were called to Craggy Lee Road, Narromine, where a car was found on fire on the train line. No casualties were reported as firefighters extinguished the fire.
The youth drove into a four-wheel drive Mitsubishi Pajero when the police were investigating a crime scene. The car was later found abandoned. An 18-year-old youth was arrested from his home.
A few days ago, a similar incident took place in Cairns, Queensland. The thieves broke in with the police car that was pumping petrol at the pump that day.
