India and Pakistan Hold High-Level DGMO Talks Following Ceasefire Agreement

 In a significant diplomatic and military development, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan—Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai and Major General Kashif Chaudhry—engaged in direct communication on Monday evening to discuss the implementation of a newly agreed ceasefire.

The high-level talks follow a landmark ceasefire accord reached between the two nations on Saturday, bringing an end to four days of heightened military confrontation marked by deadly drone incursions, cross-border missile strikes, and rising tensions across land, air, and maritime domains.

According to official sources, the discussion focused on the modalities of enforcing the ceasefire across both the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC). Particular emphasis was placed on addressing drone-related security concerns, which have emerged as a key point of contention in recent hostilities.

Originally scheduled for noon, the conversation was delayed and ultimately commenced at approximately 5:00 PM. No formal statement on the outcome of the dialogue has been released as of yet.

The ceasefire dialogue follows India’s launch of Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, a targeted military response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The operation reportedly struck nine identified terror infrastructure sites within Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). All subsequent retaliatory actions taken by India during the recent escalation were conducted under the purview of Operation Sindoor.

This renewed engagement between military leaderships marks a tentative but important step towards de-escalation after one of the most volatile episodes in Indo-Pakistani relations in recent years.
