India's 15 city attack attempts foiled overnight. Pakistan's radar air defense systems were destroyed in Indian retaliation. Pakistan Army unable to tell whether it was a drone attack or a missile attack. Explosions heard in Karachi and Lahore.

In a befitting response on Thursday morning, the Indian armed forces attacked Pakistani air defense radars and systems, destroying one system near Lahore. Sources said India's response was "in the same area and with the same intensity".

The Indian Air Force on Wednesday night deployed S-400 air defence systems to thwart Pakistan's airstrike in retaliation for Operation Sindoor. India has so far deployed four squadrons - one at Pathankot to defend Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab and the other covering strategic areas in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

According to defence officials, Pakistan attempted to attack multiple military installations across north-west India using drones and missiles. The targets included bases in Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Bhuj. The projectiles were intercepted and neutralised by the S-400 air defence systems, dubbed "Sudarshan Chakra".

The Russian-made S-400 systems used in interception are among the most advanced in the world, capable of tracking targets up to 600 km away and intercepting threats up to 400 km away. India has so far deployed four squadrons - one at Pathankot for the defence of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, and the other covering strategic areas in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
