Drogheda: New office bearers have been elected for the 2025-27 period, bringing new enthusiasm and vibrancy to the Knanaya community in Ireland.
The new office bearers were elected at the Annual General Body Meeting on May 24th at the Drogheda, RD Community Centre, attended by over 1,000 delegates. The committee, which consists of 25 members, is headed by Kochalungal Jose John (Iravimangalam) as president, Alex Mon Vattukulam (Cherukara) as secretary, Arun Thomas Kadankuzhi (Punnathura) as treasurer, and Biju Stephen Muthakod (Mrala) as PRO.
At a ceremony held in blanchardstown on June 12, the 2023-25 President Jose Chacko Plamperambil and Secretary Shajumon Oglail officially handed over the office by lighting the menorah lamp. At the meeting, a roadmap was prepared for the activities for the years 2025-27 and special programs were planned for women and youth.
The joint statement declared that the spiritual and material unity of the Knanaya community, which is interconnected by birth and karma, is their first priority, and that they are committed to preserving forever the tradition handed down by their ancestors, which is an integral part of the Catholic Church in its uniqueness, unity, and faith.
