June 24, 2025 — Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been instructed to launch a robust military response following what he described as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement by Iran.
The directive came shortly after the Israeli military confirmed that it had detected multiple missile launches from Iran targeting Israeli territory. In a statement, the IDF noted that air defense systems were actively engaged in intercepting the incoming projectiles.
Minister Katz stated that the IDF would initiate "high-intensity operations" focused on strategic targets within Tehran, including infrastructure linked to the Iranian regime and terrorist organizations.
“In light of Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the United States – through the launch of missiles toward Israel – and in accordance with the Israeli government’s policy to respond forcefully to any breach, I have instructed the IDF to continue high-intensity operations targeting regime assets and terror infrastructure in Tehran,” Katz said.
The announcement comes less than three hours after U.S. President Donald Trump formally declared that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran had taken effect, following days of intensive diplomatic engagement.
With tensions escalating once again, all eyes remain on the region as both nations appear to drift further from the framework of de-escalation established just hours earlier.
