Tel Aviv, June 16, 2025 — A branch of the United States Embassy in Tel Aviv sustained minor damage during Iranian missile strikes as the military conflict between Israel and Iran entered its fourth day, a top U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that although no American personnel were harmed, a nearby missile detonation caused concussive damage in the vicinity of the branch facility. As a precautionary measure, both the U.S. Embassy and Consulate operations in Israel have been suspended today, following a shelter-in-place directive due to ongoing hostilities, Iran International English reported.
The strike occurred amid an intensification of cross-border attacks, with both Israel and Iran launching fresh waves of missiles and drones on Sunday night and into early Monday.
The incident follows a stern warning issued by U.S. President Donald Trump over the weekend. In a message posted on Truth Social on Saturday night, President Trump declared:
“The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict.”
The President's remarks underscored Washington’s commitment to safeguarding its diplomatic assets and personnel, while also hinting at possible diplomatic engagement to de-escalate the crisis.
The growing conflict has drawn sharp concern from the international community, as fears of a broader regional war continue to mount. The U.S. maintains its position of non-involvement in offensive operations, while warning Tehran against any provocation targeting American interests.
