Domestic Tragedy in Ahmedabad: Constable Killed by Wife, Who Later Dies by Suicide in Presence of Child

Ahmedabad | August 5, 2025, In a deeply disturbing incident that unfolded in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, a woman allegedly killed her husband before dying by suicide, all in the presence of their seven-year-old son. The tragedy occurred on Monday inside government quarters located at the Danilimda police line.

The deceased man has been identified as Mukesh Parmar, a constable posted at the A Division Traffic Police Station. His wife, Sangita, was found hanging in the same residence shortly after the incident.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Mohan Saini, preliminary investigations suggest that the couple had been involved in a longstanding marital dispute, reportedly stemming from financial and personal stress. On the morning of the incident, an altercation broke out between the two while their minor son was at home.

“Sangita struck her husband on the head with a wooden stick, leading to his death on the spot. She later ended her own life by hanging,” the DCP confirmed, adding that a suicide note was recovered from the scene. The note allegedly cited ongoing marital and financial difficulties as the reason behind the drastic actions.

The couple’s young son, who witnessed the events, is currently under the care of family members, and authorities have assured psychological support will be provided. The case is under further investigation.

In another unrelated case, a 43-year-old woman in Hyderabad reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment on August 2. The woman, a homemaker, lived with her husband and two children.

Police recovered several handwritten notes from the residence, some addressed to family members. One letter reportedly referenced her religious beliefs, while family members confirmed she had been suffering from mental health challenges for several years and was undergoing treatment.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, and mental health professionals have been engaged to support the grieving family.
