PM Modi Vows Action Against Illegal Immigrants in Bihar, Launches ₹13,000 Crore Development Projects

Gaya, Bihar – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday raised concerns over the growing presence of illegal immigrants in Bihar, pledging firm action to remove them from the country. His remarks came amid ongoing opposition protests over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the poll-bound state.

Addressing a public gathering in Gaya, the Prime Minister accused the Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of appeasing immigrants for political gains. “The increasing population of illegal immigrants is a serious concern. In Bihar’s border regions, demographic shifts are taking place rapidly. The NDA government will not allow illegal immigrants to shape the future of this country. We will not let them take away the jobs meant for the people of Bihar,” he said.

Announcing a new High-Powered Demography Mission, the Prime Minister said the initiative will address demographic challenges arising from infiltration and illegal migration. “The dangers of demographic imbalance in border areas are imminent and threaten the livelihoods of citizens. This mission will safeguard India’s unity, integrity, and security,” he added.

The Prime Minister also used the occasion to highlight recent legislative measures targeting corruption in high office. Defending new bills that allow for the removal of the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and Ministers arrested on serious criminal charges for up to 30 days, he drew comparisons with government employees. “If a driver, clerk, or peon loses their job after 50 hours in prison, why should a Chief Minister or even a Prime Minister continue in office while in jail? Some leaders have signed files and issued orders from prison. Such practices undermine democracy and fuel corruption. The NDA government has enacted a law to ensure accountability, and it applies to the Prime Minister as well,” Modi said.

During his visit, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth approximately ₹13,000 crore across key sectors including power, roads, health, urban development, and water supply.
