Dublin: Rail Ireland has reminded customers that the country's newest train station, Woodbrook DART Station, will open on Sunday, August 10.
Woodbrook Station, located between Bray and Shankill, will serve the existing and new communities of Woodbrook and Shanganagh. It will be the 147th station on the Irish Rail Company’s network. The station, funded by the Department for Transport through the National Transport Authority, will be at the heart of a new residential community of up to 2,300 housing units.
The new train station will reduce reliance on private cars and help Ireland meet its climate action goals.
- Up to 191 daily DART services every week
- Travel time to city center stations 40 minutes
- The two 174-meter-long platforms include associated passenger shelters, seating, lighting, CCTV, customer information, bicycle parking and ticketing facilities.
- Access across the railway tracks via a new pedestrian bridge with ramped and step access.
- The station design allows for future plans for pedestrian and cycling access routes within the station area.
Customers are advised that there will be minor time changes to some DART, Rosslare, Northen and Maynooth commuter line services to accommodate Woodbrook and improve service performance.
