New Delhi: In a serious security breach, an unidentified man managed to scale the wall of the new Parliament complex early on Friday, officials confirmed.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the individual entered the premises by climbing the wall with the support of a tree, from the Rail Bhavan side, and reached near the Garud Gate.
Alert security personnel inside the complex apprehended him promptly, and he was taken into custody. Interrogation is currently underway to ascertain his motives, officials added.
The breach took place just a day after the Monsoon Session of Parliament concluded. The session, which commenced on July 21 and ended on August 21, recorded 21 sittings and transacted 37 hours and 7 minutes of business, according to the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
