Washington, September 14 — U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday condemned the brutal killing of Indian-origin motel manager Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah in Dallas, Texas, and pledged stringent action against illegal immigrant criminals.
In a statement shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump referenced the shocking incident, where Nagamallaiah, 50, was allegedly beheaded in front of his wife and son by a co-worker, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a 37-year-old Cuban national with a violent criminal history.
“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an illegal alien from Cuba who should have never been in our country,” Trump wrote. “This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released back into our homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their country.”
The President emphasized that his administration would pursue the case with the highest severity: “Rest assured, the time for being soft on these illegal immigrant criminals is over under my watch. This criminal, who we have in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He will be charged with murder in the first degree.”
Court records confirm that Cobos-Martinez had been released from ICE custody earlier this year after Cuba refused to accept his deportation due to his criminal background. He now remains jailed without bond pending trial.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India in Houston has been in close contact with the victim’s family and local authorities. “We are providing all necessary assistance,” Consul General D.C. Manjunath said.
The killing has sent shockwaves through the Indian-American community. The victim’s wife, Nisha, and their 18-year-old son, Gaurav, who both witnessed the attack, have since raised nearly USD 200,000 to cover funeral expenses and Gaurav’s college education.
