Meath, October 5: An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body in Agher, County Meath, on Friday morning, October 3.
The body was found shortly before 10 a.m. in the rural townland of Agher, located approximately six kilometres from Summerhill. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, which remained sealed off for a technical examination on Saturday.
The deceased has been transported to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
In an official statement, An Garda Síochána confirmed:
“Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in Agher, Co. Meath, on Friday, 3rd October 2025, shortly before 10 a.m. The body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where a post-mortem examination is due to take place. The outcome of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation. The local coroner has been notified.”
Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. Gardaí continue to maintain a presence at the site as forensic specialists conduct a detailed examination.
