Two Arrested After Intermediate Student Dies Following Alleged Sexual Assault in Nalgonda

Nalgonda (Telangana), October 8: A shocking incident has come to light in Nalgonda district, where an intermediate student died following an alleged sexual assault in a rented room on Monday. Police have arrested two persons in connection with the case.

According to Nalgonda DSP Shivaram Reddy, the main accused has been identified as Gaddam Krishna, a 26-year-old tractor driver from Annaram village in Guttakinda mandal, while his accomplice Bachalakuri Madhu, an auto driver from Nalgonda, has also been taken into custody.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, a student from a nearby village, used to commute to college in Nalgonda daily by auto-rickshaw. Krishna, who had earlier worked in her village, came in contact with her and befriended her through Instagram and WhatsApp over the past three months. Police said Krishna had been expressing romantic interest and persuading her to meet him.

On October 7, the girl left for college in the morning as usual. Around 8:30 a.m., Krishna intercepted her auto near the District Education Office (DEO) Square in Nalgonda. To avoid being recognized, he reportedly placed her in another auto driven by his friend Madhu and took her to a rented room in Shamsunagar.

Police said Krishna allegedly sexually assaulted the girl inside the room. The victim began to bleed heavily and lost consciousness shortly afterward. She is believed to have died from excessive bleeding. Krishna then locked the room and fled the scene.

After learning of the incident, the girl’s family informed the police, who recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Later that evening, Krishna surrendered at the police station, while his accomplice Madhu was arrested soon after.

Police have charged Krishna under Section 65(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act for the sexual assault of a minor. He has also been booked under Section 105 of the IPC for causing death due to the assault. Madhu has been charged under Section 107 of the IPC for abetment.

Both accused were produced before court on Wednesday and remanded to judicial custody.
