As the robbers entered, customers fled the premises in panic. The two suspects were reportedly armed with an axe and pistols, and immediately threatened the shop owner, ordering him to remain silent.
However, contrary to the attackers’ expectations, the shop owner put up a fierce resistance. CCTV visuals show him grabbing one of the robbers, who was wearing a helmet. Meanwhile, the second suspect—his face covered with a mask and cap—pointed a pistol at the shop owner’s son in an attempt to force the jeweller to let go. Despite the threat, the shop owner refused to release his hold.
The footage further shows one of the masked robbers attempting to flee the store with a bag filled with jewellery, while the other struggles to free himself from the shop owner’s grip. According to reports, the robbers eventually abandoned the stolen jewellery and fled the scene empty-handed.
It remains unclear whether the suspects have been arrested. The incident has caused concern among local traders, heightening fears over security in the area.
Police are expected to review the CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
