Eyewitnesses said the woman, in a fit of rage, allegedly grabbed the other woman by her hair, threw her to the ground and assaulted her. Amid the chaos, the husband reportedly managed to flee the scene. Several bystanders gathered at the location, and many recorded videos of the incident, which quickly circulated on social media.
Attempts by onlookers to intervene and defuse the situation reportedly failed, as the argument continued for a considerable period. The high-voltage drama disrupted traffic and caused public inconvenience in the area.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information and took both women to the police station for questioning. In her statement, the wife alleged that her husband had been involved in an illicit relationship for a long time and had subjected her to physical abuse whenever she objected. She further claimed that around four months ago, her husband refused to keep her at home, forcing her to move to her parental house along with their two children, aged five and six.
The woman also alleged that she had earlier approached the police with a complaint but no action was taken at the time. Meanwhile, the young woman who was allegedly assaulted has filed a counter-complaint against the wife and other women accompanying her.
Based on the complaint, the Agra Police Commissionerate said a case has been registered for assault against Shanti, Pooja, Aarati and Pinki. Police officials stated that the matter is under investigation and further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
