Hyderabad, January 7, 2026 – In a significant crackdown on online child exploitation, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested a 39-year-old YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh for allegedly creating and disseminating explicit content involving minors.
The accused, identified as Kambeti Satya Murthy, a resident of Visakhapatnam, was apprehended on Wednesday following an investigation into his activities on social media platforms.
Murthy operated a YouTube channel named "Viral Hub" under the handle @ViralHub007, where he reportedly uploaded videos featuring inappropriate interviews with underage girls aged between 15 and 17. Authorities revealed that these videos included vulgar language, obscene gestures, and instances of sexual harassment, such as encouraging two minors to kiss each other on camera—actions deemed equivalent to child sexual exploitation.
The investigation uncovered that Murthy, who has been active as a content creator since 2018, initially used abusive language to attract viewers and monetize his channel. Over time, he escalated to targeting minors in explicit content to boost views, likes, and earnings. He also maintained an Instagram account under the handle "Viralhub_007," where similar material was promoted.
Charges have been filed against Murthy under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act. A case has been registered at the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station (Crime No. 1885/2025), and further inquiries are ongoing to determine the full extent of his operations and any potential accomplices.
In a statement, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police emphasized their zero-tolerance policy toward the creation or distribution of illegal content exploiting minors. "Such unethical practices on social media, which disregard moral values and violate child protection laws, will not be tolerated under any circumstances," officials stated, urging the public to report suspicious online activities promptly.
This arrest highlights the growing concerns over digital platforms being misused for child abuse material, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and enforcement by content hosting services.
