A woman in her 20s has died after being struck by a car on the R502 Road at Ballinlassa, County Tipperary, Ireland on Sunday evening.
According to Garda Síochána, emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 7:00 pm on March 8, following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle on the stretch of road between Templemore, County Tipperary, Ireland and Templetouhy, County Tipperary, Ireland.
“The pedestrian, a female in her 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later,” a Garda spokesperson said.
Authorities confirmed that the motorist involved in the incident did not require immediate hospital treatment.
The local coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
A Garda spokesperson urged anyone who may have seen the incident or was travelling on the road at the time to come forward.
“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them. Any road users travelling on this route at the time who may have camera footage, including dashcam recordings, are asked to make it available to investigators,” the spokesperson said.
