Meppadi: Heavy rains caused a landslide in Meppadi, Wayanad. The landslide occurred in the Wayanad tunnel construction area. It is suspected that people are trapped. 

The landslide occurred near the Meenakshi Bridge. The hill near the bridge has collapsed to a large extent, descending onto the road and the nearby river.

A worker who was working at a construction site nearby has been rescued from underground. Wayanad recorded extremely heavy rains yesterday. 

There is also concern that vehicles or people passing through the bridge may have been caught in the landslide. It is also reported that Minister T. Siddique has instructed the RRT team to move to the area. The landslide has caused great concern.
