One Indian national was killed after the commercial vessel MV OMORFI came under attack while transiting the Black Sea on July 18, reportedly in Russian territorial waters.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the vessel had ten crew members on board, including three Indians. While one Indian sailor lost his life, the other two Indian nationals were reported safe. The MEA expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family as concerns grow over the safety of commercial vessels and seafarers in the conflict-hit region.
