ISLAMABAD / KUWAIT CITY — In a significant move to deepen institutional ties, Kuwait and Pakistan formally signed Protocol Agreement-2026 during high-level diplomatic and military talks held in Rawalpindi, aimed at significantly expanding bilateral military cooperation and operational coordination.
The high-profile agreement was finalized during an official state visit by Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, who held extensive consultations with his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Muhammad Asif, alongside the Chief of General Staff and other senior military leadership. Building directly upon the foundational framework established by the 2023 Defense Cooperation Agreement, the new protocol creates a comprehensive and structured legal pathway enabling the Pakistan Armed Forces to deliver targeted, practical assistance to Kuwait.
