US Representative Survives Plane Emergency Landing in Wisconsin

WAUSAU, Wis. — U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany escaped serious harm late Saturday night after the small aircraft he was traveling in lost power and was forced into an emergency water landing in central Wisconsin.

According to statements released by the congressman, the four-seat aircraft experienced power failure as it approached the Wausau Downtown Airport while returning from a political event in La Crosse County. The pilot successfully executed an emergency water landing on Lake Wausau.

As the aircraft began to submerge following the impact, Tiffany and the pilot managed to exit the cabin and swim to a nearby shallow area, where they awaited rescue. Local emergency responders, including the Wausau Fire Department, arrived via boat to pull them from the water.

Both men were transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. Tiffany later expressed deep gratitude to the pilot and first responders for their swift action, acknowledging that he and his companion were fortunate to walk away from the harrowing ordeal.
