ISLAMABAD: A massive explosion has taken place at a military base in Sialkot in north Pakistan. The blast took place near a cantonment area in Punjab province. The media reported that multiple explosions were heard. The sound of the blast was reportedly heard near the cantonment area in the Punjab province



Explosion took place at the Sialkot military base of the Pakistan Army. No further details are available about the damage caused by this. Local media reported that the sound of the blast could be heard miles away.

Rishi Suri, editor of the Pakistani daily Daily Milap, tweeted that there had been several blasts at a military base in Sialkot. Preliminary investigation has revealed that it is a place where weapons are kept. Flames can be seen everywhere. The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

No one was reported killed in the incident. There has been no official response from the Pakistani military to the blasts.

Sialkot Kant is one of the oldest and most important cantonment areas in Pakistan. It was founded in 1852 by the British Indian Army.

Recently, a mosque was attacked during Friday prayers in Peshawar, Pakistan. 56 people were killed in the attack. More than 190 people were injured.
