At least 27 people have been burnt to death in a four-storey building fire near Delhi's former metro station. 8 people were burnt. Many people were seriously injured when they jumped out of the building. Most of the dead were people who jumped from the building.
The NDRF team reached the spot where a huge fire broke out in a building near Delhi Mundka metro station this evening (13/05/2022). Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has said that 27 bodies have been recovered and the injured have been admitted to hospitals.

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of life in a devastating fire in Delhi. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted last night wishing the injured a speedy recovery. He said the Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief Fund would provide Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

The fire was reported around 4.40pm on Friday, the fire brigade said. Attempts to extinguish the fire began when about 20 units arrived. The reason is not known. The fire was extinguished late at night.
