Ireland: Dunnes Stores recalls a batch of smoky barbecue Irish pork ribs.
The batch of stores' Smokey Barbecue Irish Pork Ribs had the wrong back label. “The product contains barley that is not mentioned on the label. This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic or intolerant to grains containing gluten (barley).
The batch labeled 'Dunnes Stores Smoky BBQ Irish Pork Ribs' has an expiration date of 13.05.22 and approval number: IE 538 EC 500 g.
Allergies have no effect on consumers who are able to eat gluten-containing grains, but can cause disease in people with allergies. When a person with celiac disease eats a gluten-containing product, their body overreacts to the protein and destroys their villi - (villi are small finger-like projections found on the wall of their small intestine).
When the villi is injured, your small intestine is unable to properly absorb nutrients from food.
