Overseas Jobs Will No Longer Obtain A Police Clearance Certificate From State Police Kerala; Certificate Of 'No Involvement In Crime' Can Be Issued

Overseas jobs will no longer have a police clearance certificate from state police. Certificate of 'No involvement in crime' can be issued for employment purposes within the state.

Those going abroad for work will no longer get a clearance certificate from the state police. The decision was taken following the High Court ruling that only the Central Government has the right to issue the certificate.

Regional Passport Officers are legally empowered to issue PCC certificates. Make certificates, they already do. It is the sovereign function of the Central Government to issue all such certificates through its authorized representatives. Submitted as Regional Passport Officers. Certificates already authorized by law to issue such good conduct and they already have missions for Indian immigrants doing so. The Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, on the basis of a statement submitted on behalf of the Union of India, submits that there is no State Government Authority.

If there are good reasons for assigning someone else directly, you can apply for the certificate. The charge for this is Rs.500. Upon receipt of the application, the officers will inspect and issue the certificate.

The application should be submitted to the District Police Chief or Station House Officers for obtaining the certificate. Certificate of 'No involvement in crime' can be issued for employment purposes within the state. If there is a criminal case in the name of the applicant except for traffic and petty cases, the certificate will not be issued. Instead, you will receive a letter with case information in the name of the applicant. The certificate will be rejected if the applicant gives incorrect information. Kerala DGP Anil Kant said the applications could be investigated and the certificate should be issued within 48 hours. DGP Anil Kant Kerala had said that the applications of those involved in criminal cases and those who pose a threat to national security should be scrutinized.

The petition was filed in the High Court on the condition that in order to get a job in some countries, a certificate of good character is required. The Central Government had informed the court that only the Central Government or the work commissioned by the Government was authorized to issue this certificate. As a result, the Central Government agencies will observe that the behavior is good and those going abroad for employment need only seek the permission of the Central Government. The Central Government had pointed out that in some countries such a certificate is required for employment and is issued by the Regional Passport Office. The Kerala High Court issued the order citing this.
