Ireland: The "India-Ireland Friendly Lecture Series" on Sanskrit Studies has started in Ireland.

India-Ireland was initiated under the leadership of the Indian Embassy with intellectual dialogue, socio-economic development, democratic governance, sharing of experiences and innovations in technology, art and culture. Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra spoke on the importance of Sanskrit in his introductory speech on the India-Ireland Friendship Lecture Series.

Padma Shri, ICCR World Sanskrit Award winner Mr. Rutger Kortenhorst delivered the keynote address on the teaching of Sanskrit in Ireland. The lecture was the first step in a series of India-Ireland friendly lectures. The embassy said further discussions would be held in the coming days.

“I work to promote Sanskrit because I love the language. I live in Ireland, where we teach Sanskrit to our students. Sanskrit gives people a deeper understanding of themselves. I am happy and honored to have received the Padma Shri award. ”

Professor Rutherford Courtenhost was quoted in ANI's tweet as saying.

Rutgers courtesy of Indian Council for Cultural Relations 2020 honored with 'World Culture Prize'.

Rutger Courten host is an Irish Sanskrit teacher at John Scott's Senior School in Dublin, Ireland. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his dedicated work in promoting the Sanskrit language in Ireland.

In one episode of the show 'Mann Ki Baat' which aired on August 29, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the Rutger Court host.
