Indian cricket legend Mithali Raj has announced his retirement from all international cricket. "Thanks for all the love and support," She said.
The 39-year-old retires as the all-time leading run-scorer in women's one-day internationals.
Mithali has retired as the highest run scorer in women's ODIs. Representing India in 232 matches, they scored 7805 runs at an average of 50.68. They had earlier announced their retirement from T20 internationals. Mithali made his international debut in June 1999 in an ODI against Ireland. They led India to the ICC Women's World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year, where they failed to qualify for the semi-finals.
It was under her captaincy that India reached the final of the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup, where they barely lost to England. Mithali was also the captain of the team when India lost to Australia in the final of the ICC Women's World Cup in 2005.
Stylish Batter scored 2364 runs from 89 T20s, the highest ever by an Indian. Mithali has scored 699 runs in 12 Tests for India.
In her two-decade-long career, she has scored 8 international centuries and 85 half-centuries. Her innings of 214 against England in 2002 remains the second highest individual score by a batswoman in Test cricket.
