IRELAND: Temperatures could reach as high as 24C in Ireland next week as warm weather returns, but it's not all good news.
The humid air is to be accompanied by lots of cloud and potentially heavy rain at times, especially across the bank holiday weekend.
Next Tuesday is forecast as being 24C in certain parts of Ireland as it stands according to Met Eireann, but it won't reach those heights in the coming days.
"Saturday will be very gloomy with sporadic rain or showers, coupled with some low cloud and mist around the Atlantic shores," a Met Eireann forecaster said. However, there will also be longer dry intervals with the possibility of some bright sunshine escaping the Atlantic counties. Most commonly moderate southwest breeze; highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees; warmest in the southeast and east.
"To start, mostly dull with lingering downpours, heavier in the south. Only sporadic showers will likely follow by the afternoon, with sunny periods expected to emerge first. However, there is a risk that more rain will start to fall across the southern half of the nation later in the day. The warmest areas will be in southern counties with light northwest or changeable winds, with highest temperatures ranging from 17 to 23 degrees.
According to current predictions, Monday will primarily be dreary with scattered bursts of rain spreading over the nation and becoming heavier in the afternoon and evening. There will also likely be hill, mist, and coastal fog. With light to moderate southwest breezes, the highest temperatures will range from 17 to 22 or 23 degrees.
The forecaster noted that it will then ramp up even more on Tuesday, with some places expecting a really pleasant day: "Showery, windy downpours with mild sunny intervals in between. Maximum temperatures range from 18 to 24 degrees with gusty southwest breezes."
