DUBLIN: The Emergency Department (ED) at St James's Hospital is currently overcrowded, so the hospital is advising non-emergency patients to consider alternative care options such as their GP or pharmacy.
Patients with less urgent conditions may have longer waits, however, the hospital urges that any patient requiring urgent hospital care not delay coming to the ED for treatment.
We work to ensure that the sickest patients are prioritized for care. We regret any delays patients may experience while waiting to be seen, however, all patients are triaged on arrival and seen according to clinical urgency. Thank you for your cooperation. The hospital wrote on Facebook.
