Dublin: Temperatures expected to reach 26 degrees Celsius. Met Eireann says today is expected to be the hottest day of the year. Sunshine will continue tomorrow and the capital is likely to witness the highest temperatures.
Tomorrow will be another warm and sunny day, especially in the east and south. Again we will get 26C, possibly up to 27C tomorrow in the Dublin area.
According to the Met Eireann meteorologist, temperatures will rise to 26C, with parts of the south midlands possibly reaching 27C.
The mercury recorded the highest temperature of the week at 25.1 on Thursday. 24.9 was recorded at Moorpark, Cork. But today we are likely to cross 25.1.
Low cloud and fog will gradually lift in the morning and then we will have plenty of warm sunshine in the country today. It will remain cloudy in the north midlands until this afternoon. But "all of Ireland will be warm and sunny throughout the morning with temperatures reaching 26 degrees
Cloudy areas ie some parts of the North Midlands will see temperatures of 22C or 23C. The country is now under very warm air pressure, so it will be cloudy but warm and humid today, although it is expected to be foggy and humid in parts tonight.
Temperatures will drop slightly on Tuesday where we will see increasing clouds, tomorrow evening will be a bit windy with light rain moving north-west then it will gradually move south-east and across the rest of the country on Monday night into Tuesday, by Tuesday it will be rainy across the country.
