The Covid-19 booster appointments are open to those above 60 years of age, those with serious medical conditions and pregnant women who can come forward for the Covid-19 booster vaccine.
People who are more than 16 weeks pregnant will also be invited to book their next booster at the HSE Vaccination Center or participating GPs.
Meanwhile, the HSE said children aged 5-12, who are immunocompromised and should now receive a second booster, will soon be invited through their parents.
From today, those in that age group and pregnant women can make an appointment for a booster dose through the Health Service Executive. Vaccines will begin next Monday, August 15.
HSE Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Henry appealed to those eligible to take up the offer, saying it would provide continuous protection against serious diseases and boost one's immunity against infection from Covid-19. Booster vaccines will be given in the coming weeks to those aged 50-64 and those with chronic health conditions.
“Over the next few weeks, boosters will be offered to people aged 50-64 and people with long-term health conditions. "To ensure smooth things for people to book appointments online and get the vaccine, we are inviting people in 5-year blocks starting from age 60-64." The HSE national lead for the Covid-19 vaccine program said:
