Outbound traffic from Russia was the first to feel the impact of President Vladimir Putin's words, who ordered Russia's mobilisation to capture chunks of Ukraine and warned the West that his statement of resorting to nuclear weapons to defend the nation was "not a bluff" comment.

Russian citizens seem to be leaving their country on a whim to places where a visa is not necessary. The flight data, presented by the popular flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, on Wednesday portrayed the flight departures that followed around Moscow soon after Putin ordered partial mobilisation. The Russian President is calling up thousands of military reservists to fight in Ukraine after suffering setbacks on the battlefield.

According to FlightRadar24 data, Anatalya, which is in Turkey, is the first most popular destination outside of Russia, with a large number of flights departing from Moscow Vnukovo International Airport. Three other such visa-free territories also made the top 10 list.

The demand for flights to destinations like Istanbul, Dubai, and Tbilisi has increased so much during the past few days that the cost of tickets has multiplied by two to three. From 15,180 Rubles at the start of this month to 25,128 Rubles as of September 22, the cost of a ticket from Moscow to Istanbul has increased substantially.

Prices to Georgian capital Tbilisi also went from 13,080 RUB to 60,985 RUB. Flight fares to Dubai spiked from 19,222 RUB to 61,796 RUB on Thursday.

According to Google Trends statistics, the Russian flight booking website Aviasales has also seen a significant increase in searches this week.

As of 14:15 Moscow time on Wednesday, Turkish Airlines flights from Moscow to Istanbul were either fully booked or not available until Sunday.

The Air Serbia fares for the Moscow-Belgrade flights, according to another report by the Associated Press, also sold out for the ensuing several days. The most popular routes between Moscow and Dubai and Istanbul experienced a sharp price increase. The AP reported that the one-way economy class trip on this itinerary may cost up to $9,119.
