Delhi: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called a nationwide bank strike on January 30 and 31 to demand the introduction of a five-day working week, adequate recruitment in all cadres, reverting to the old pension scheme and others.
As the bank employees declared a nationwide strike on January 30th and 31st, the banks will remain closed for the last four days of this month.
The fourth of twenty-eight and twenty-nine dates is Saturday and Sunday. This is likely to affect banking services across the country. Managements have advised bank customers to plan their bank visits and transactions accordingly.
State convener of United Forum of Bank Unions Mahesh Mishra said that the officials are going on strike with demands including salary revision and issues related to settlement, five working days in banks, promotions and salary and pension fixation are yet to be resolved.
