Abu Dhabi: The UAE has imposed travel restrictions to Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea due to the spread of the Marberg virus. The Ministry of External Affairs and International Cooperation has advised the postponement of travel to the two countries.
Currently, those visiting these countries are advised to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health and contact the Ministry in case of emergency.
The virus causes a fatal infection similar to Ebola. So far 13 cases have been reported in Equatorial Guinea. Of the eight cases reported in Tanzania, five have already died. Saudi Arabia has also imposed travel restrictions to these countries.
