Indian murder in Ireland. More information has come out about the The Incident is as follows:
The 38-year-old woman, from the native of Kerala state who was stabbed to death in Cork early last night on Friday 14 July, is an Indian woman who moved to Ireland a few months ago. She is the mother of a five-year-old boy who was not at home at the time of the incident. Deepa Dinamani (38), a native of Palakkad, was working as an accountant in Cork.
After one of the parents dropped this child off at summer camp, another friend was tasked with bringing him back. A friend picked up the boy from the summer camp and took him home. But when the parents did not arrive to pick up the child until it was too late, when they arrived at the Cardinal Court home with the child, they found the child's father acting suspiciously and informed the gardaÃ.
At around 10pm on Friday night, the Garda Emergency Unit found the woman lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom of the house with stab wounds to the neck. The doctor immediately reached the spot and confirmed the death of the woman. But a garda report suggests the woman was killed hours before the garda team arrived at the house. There are indications that the wife-husband dispute resulted in the murder.
The woman's 41-year-old husband was arrested by gardaà and taken to Togher Garda Station for questioning and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. A knife was recovered from the scene. However, forensic testing is required to establish whether the weapon was used for purpose. He will remain in garda custody. Gardaà have clarified that no one else is being investigated in connection with the incident.
Gardaà have also launched house-to-house inquiries in the Cardinal Court area of Wilton, investigating any incidents at the home. Gardaà are also trying to find out from friends and acquaintances of the dead woman when she was last seen alive.
An incident room has been set up at Togher Garda Station and the body has been recovered by Chief State Pathologist. After a forensic examination led by Linda Mulligan, body of deceased was taken to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital on Saturday afternoon. A Garda murder investigation in Cork will only officially begin after a post-mortem has been completed on the Indian woman's body.
